Huck & Coco

Huck loves to play. Especially with other dogs. Especially with little Coco next door. Coco is a shitzu puppy. She is about 1/10 the size of Huck. I am still trying to figure out if Huck realizes she is a dog and not a small cat or large hamster or just a stuffed dog toy. The latter is what worries me because Huck, like every dog I have played with, instinctually shakes his toys when playing. This is the motion that snaps a prey's neck, killing it. I have had terrible images flash before my eyes when Huck begins to play a little too rough with tiny Coco. Huck and Coco will play-bite each other, which is fine. But I start to get nervous when Huck will have Coco by the head, lifting her off the ground like he is about to carry her off to his den for supper. Sweet little Coco doesn't mind and will keep coming back for more rough play. Thankfully Coco keeps growing and Huck is not. Soon she will be more of a worthy opponent for wrestling and chasing. And soon Huck will know for sure that she, though small, is a fellow canine and not a stuffed toy to unleash instinctual killer moves upon.
